Paint The Town Gold
Many people do not know what the economic impact is of having a major midwestern university in their community. Lindenwood University now serves more than 17,000 students per year from 40 states and more than 90 countries and has an estimated economic impact exceeding $1 billion in the St. Louis region.
Lindenwood has experienced tremendous growth over the past several years. Seventeen dormatories now house more than 4,000 students during the school year. These are students that shop in our stores, eat in our restaurants, gas up at our convenience stores, and volunteer in our community. Their parents also spend money when they are in town attending athletic or fine art events. Did you know that students are more likely to patronize a business they feel is student-friendly?
Lindenwood University has contributed a lot to our county and the Chamber and the Cities of St. Charles and St. Peters are spearheading an effort show our appreciation. "Paint The Town Gold" started in 2011 as a way to welcome students to school and show our support of Lindenwood University and its students.
